Darley International Student Programme

Welcome to the Darley International Student Programme, a two year management training course for potential thoroughbred industry leaders. A dynamic range of management modules including finance, legal and marketing, combined with practical work placements in the thoroughbred industry deliver an unparalleled real world experience for those who are selected for the scholarship. Trainees travel to Ireland, UK, USA, Australia and Dubai to work and study.

University Education: University College Dublin, University of Sydney, University of Kentucky and University of Arizona deliver and certify core modules. Trainees who reach the standard required will be awarded the Darley Flying Start Diploma on completion of the course.

Graduates of the programme are working in the thoroughbred industry in Europe, USA, Asia, South America and Australasia in sectors including media, breeding, racing, bloodstock, marketing and consultancy.

Applications are accepted on an annual basis and 12 candidates are selected each year. Typically, successful candidates have a strong academic background, full time work experience in the thoroughbred industry and strong leadership qualities. Applications
