Darley Flying Start Trainees’ Presentations

Darley Flying Start USA Conference, July 2008

On July 16th 2008, following a buffet lunch, the twelve trainees debated a variety of topics in front of an invited audience representing the thoroughbred industry in Kentucky and farther afield. Held in the beautiful surrounds of Keeneland, each debate involved the speakers delivering their argument for 10 minutes followed by rebuttals and questions from the audience. Trainees were assessed on their debating skills as part of their communications module. Following the presentations guests and trainees enjoyed drinks and canapes. Darley Flying Start Irish Conference, October 2007

The twelve trainees were assigned a variety of topics which were presented to an invited audience at the annual conference at the Keadeen Hotel in Ireland on October 23rd 2007. Each presentation lasted 15 minutes and trainees were assessed on their presentation skills as part of their communications module. The audience included Irish industry leaders, Darley management, trainees parents, journalists and politicians. Following the presentations guests and trainees enjoyed a buffet supper.
