
The trainees commenced their six week training placements in the USA, Argentina and Japan on May 26th. Chance travelled to South America to gain experience at an Argentine bloodstock agency and to learn about the racing industry there, while Bill and Jimmy made the trip to Japan to work at Darley Japan and to experience Japanese racing and business culture.

The second year trainees completed the final week of their work placements in the UK, Ireland and France. The six trainees who were placed with racehorse trainers finished their placement with great hands on experience and a better understanding of the management, care and race planning of horses in training in the UK and Ireland. They also gained valuable knowledge on staff management and the health care of racehorses. Jason extended his veterinary experience at the Newmarket Equine Hospital and gained a valuable insight into the responsibilities and commitment of the veterinary profession. Mick and Darren learned about the business of running a sales company and selecting bloodstock while James honed his financial and business skills with William Sporgborg at Breeding Capital PLC. Jordyn took away lots of ideas for marketing racing from HRI while Liam developed a huge network of contacts through Angus Gold.
