
The first years completed their Racing Officials Accreditation Course and are awaiting results of their final exam. They visited Claiborne Farm and saw two of the stallions, Pulpit and Eddington. They met with Susan Martin at the Jockey Club and went on a tour, discussing the Jockey Club roles and responsibilities. Remi Bellocq spoke to the group about the Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association which covered political factors and led to an interesting discussion. The trainees commenced their six week individual training placements on May 24th with trainers, agents, sales companies and other industry professionals.
The second year trainees will complete their final work placements in the UK, France, Japan and Ireland on May 29th. While gaining practical experience on their placements the trainees continued to work on their business plans and entrepreneurship module assignment. Following an industry visit to Germany on May 30th and 31st they will continue the programme in Ireland.
